  • Climate trend: A fairly regular year both in terms of rainfall and seasonal temperatures, even if summer confirms the drought and heat trend of the last four years. The very rainy May did not compromise the development of the plants and the fruits, which after a scarce vintage, were abundant and the earth managed itself with even a few rains until the beginning of September, when an abundant precipitation accelerated the ripening and our harvest times. For the first time we have increased the harvesting team to ensure the grapes were picked at a perfect ripening point. The production balance and our respectful care have allowed us to consider 2018 as an excellent year.

  • Winemaking technique: The healthiest and ripest bunches of grapes harvested undergo a particular drying process (Appassimento) which takes place, on plateaux, in naturally well- ventilated rooms. The grapes lose at least 40% of their original weight, concentrating sugars, aromatic compounds and noble tannins. In January the grapes are gently pressed and fermentation begins at the low winter ripening temperature (13-17 C). Transfer for 24 months in 3500 and 5000 lt oak barrels of various origins and compositions, then aged for 12 months in concrete tanks.

  • Total acidity: 6.30 gr/l

Musella’s Wines

Our wines follow an ambitious project, not only because biodynamic, but because we believe that now is the time for the Valpolicella to further exploit its territorial potential, free from market constraints in order to better express all their innate class in purity and taste.

The elegance inherent in traditional varieties is thus considered by us the conceptual center of our wines, the true revelation of a rich and unique nuances and complexities territory, often enhanced with the right depth in the most commercial wines, thus confusing the public perception .

Cherry bark and spice blend in the typical pleasure of Valpolicella wines and find in Musella a sincere interpretation balance, which goes straight to the heart.
