Climate trend: Another very arid and dry winter, temperatures never excessively cold. First hailstorm on April 25th. The rains begin in the second week of May and are very frequent and intense, treatments are difficult with these rains and high temperatures, the result is a significant and fairly generalized downy mildew infection. The weather stabilizes towards the end of June and very high temperatures begin which cause the vineyards to suffer greatly. Strong storms, increasingly violent. On July 24th another hailstorm hits our area and puts the plants in further crisis, but at least they are reassured by the rain. Another strong storm on August 14th, with moderate hail, then it doesn’t rain again until the end of October, guaranteeing at least a good dry harvest and the few remaining grapes are healthy and in excellent condition. Difficult year, like the last 5, but with good final quality.
Winemaking technique: Maceration of skins and must for a few hours. Soft pressing. Fermentation and decanting at natural autumn temperatures. 12 months on the fine lees in containers of red Verona MARBLE. The various shapes of the containers (sphere, cylinder and octagon) create a movement through physical motions sufficient to keep the wine alive, clean and clear. The wine is not filtered

Musella’s Wines
Our wines follow an ambitious project, not only because biodynamic, but because we believe that now is the time for the Valpolicella to further exploit its territorial potential, free from market constraints in order to better express all their innate class in purity and taste.
The elegance inherent in traditional varieties is thus considered by us the conceptual center of our wines, the true revelation of a rich and unique nuances and complexities territory, often enhanced with the right depth in the most commercial wines, thus confusing the public perception .
Cherry bark and spice blend in the typical pleasure of Valpolicella wines and find in Musella a sincere interpretation balance, which goes straight to the heart.
