Vini di Musella
  • First year of production: 1997

  • Vineyard: Corvina 50% and Cabernet Sauvignon 50%

  • Geographical Location: Veneto – Italy Northeast of Verona, in the hill that divides Montorio from the Valle d’Illasi

  • Extension: 20 hectares of Guyot and 5 hectares of Traditional Pergola Veronese

  • Plant date: Since 1995 to 2022

  • Composition of the soil: Calcareous with red clay and tufo

  • Strains per hectares: 6000 on guyot and 4500 on pergola veronese

  • Harvest: September

  • Yield per plant: 1 kg.

  • Climate trend: During some days of wintertime temperatures went at -5°C. Springtime started earlier, but on April 21st we had a terrible frost that burned many vineyards in all Europe. In the Musella forest there are a lot of deers that eat gems and fruits, so we had a 15- 20% production shortfall. Droughty summer brought to a earlier harvest,,started the first week of August. It was a hard and difficult Vintage, but the quali- ty of grapes in the end is excellent.

  • Winemaking technique: The Cabernet Sauvignon harvest precedes that of the Corvina by about a week. Both grapes are left to dry, but the Cabernet is pressed after two weeks, while the Corvina is left in the crates for up to three weeks. Separate vinification and rest for 18 months in new tonneaux for the Cabernet and one or two years old for the Corvina. After blending, we wait a few months before bottling.

  • Maturation: 18 months

  • Alcohol: 14.10% vol

  • Total acidity: 6.25

  • PH: 3.32

  • Sugary residue: 2.9

Musella’s Wines

Our wines follow an ambitious project, not only because biodynamic, but because we believe that now is the time for the Valpolicella to further exploit its territorial potential, free from market constraints in order to better express all their innate class in purity and taste.

The elegance inherent in traditional varieties is thus considered by us the conceptual center of our wines, the true revelation of a rich and unique nuances and complexities territory, often enhanced with the right depth in the most commercial wines, thus confusing the public perception .

Cherry bark and spice blend in the typical pleasure of Valpolicella wines and find in Musella a sincere interpretation balance, which goes straight to the heart.
